How does a pneumatic waste system actually move waste?
High-efficiency fans create airflow inside sealed stainless pipework. Waste loaded at inlet stations is pulled by this airflow at up to 30 m/s through horizontal, vertical, and underground routes to a remote collection room, with no manual handling in between.
Can the system handle multiple waste streams?
Yes. Diverter valves and timed logic route general waste, recyclables, organics, and soiled linen through dedicated paths so streams stay segregated all the way to collection. The number of streams is configured to the facility's needs.
What types of buildings is this suitable for?
Hospitals and healthcare campuses, airports and railway stations, high-rise and mixed-use towers, malls, hotels, stadiums, and large institutional or government developments. Anywhere with high waste throughput and a need for hygiene and reduced manual handling.
What is the typical lifecycle and payback period?
Pneumatic transport systems are long-life building infrastructure, typically engineered for 25 to 35 years of service. Payback depends on labour, hygiene, and operational savings for the specific facility, and is assessed during the consultation and design stage.
Can a system be retrofitted into an existing building?
Retrofit feasibility depends on available routing space, riser access, and the collection room location. We assess each building individually. New builds offer the most flexibility, but many existing facilities can be served with a tailored design.
What support and monitoring do you provide after installation?
Systems include cycle history, station activity, and load monitoring so operations become measurable. We provide maintenance support and service optimisation based on this data. Specific service terms are agreed per project.
Do you manufacture in India or import?
Memios India engineers and fabricates domestically from our Gurugram base, bringing global CleanStream pneumatic technology into Indian manufacturing. This supports Make in India sourcing and faster local support.
